Messe Berlin: Autumn Program Starts with IFA Anniversary and Mega-Event InnoTrans

In September, the consumer electronics show IFA celebrates its 100th anniversary under the Funkturm. At the end of the month, the world’s leading trade fair InnoTrans will fill all the exhibition halls in Berlin. After that, more trade fairs and events will follow: until the end of the year, the Berlin exhibition grounds will be a hotspot for guests from all over the world.

The autumn program of Messe Berlin offers numerous highlights for visitors from around the world. It begins with IFA Berlin from September 6 to 10, which attracts not only international trade visitors but also many technology fans to the exhibition grounds. The next major trade fair follows shortly after from September 24 to 27 with InnoTrans – featuring innovations from the transport sector across more than 200,000 square meters of event space. The world's leading trade fair for transport technology is fully booked this year and is one of the most important fairs for the capital. Over four days, InnoTrans will bring together prominent representatives of the international rail and mobility sector in the capital.

Popular Public Highlights in August and September

From August 30 to September 1, 2024, Werder an der Havel will once again transform into a true Riviera paradise when BOOT & FUN INWATER opens its doors. Germany's largest water sports event in inland waters offers a wide selection of luxurious dream boats, exciting fun-sport activities, and practical accessories under the open sky. Over 150 boats of all segments and sizes are expected in the Marina Havelauen – including numerous premieres.

This year, IFA Berlin is celebrating a special anniversary: From September 6 to 10, IFA will turn the capital into an international hotspot for the world of consumer electronics and home appliances during its 100th anniversary edition. Chancellor Olaf Scholz is expected at the opening gala on the eve of the event and the opening tour.

In autumn, not only the Berlin Exhibition Grounds attract with interesting events. The Mecklenburg Agricultural Exhibition MeLa will take place in Mühlengeez near Güstrow from September 12 to 15. As the hub of the agricultural industry in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, MeLa presents a wide range of the latest agricultural technology. In addition to huge combine harvesters, there will be barbecue and garden technology as well as many farm animals to experience. Around 60,000 visitors are expected at MeLa.

Global Industry Meeting for Mobility at InnoTrans

Experience the future of mobility today – from September 24 to 27 on the exhibition grounds: The 14th edition of InnoTrans – the world’s leading trade fair for transport technology and mobility – is completely sold out and will fill all the halls and the track and outdoor areas with 200,000 gross square meters of space. With over 2,900 exhibitors from 59 countries, it is one of the most important and largest fairs in the capital. Here, trade visitors can discover around 220 world premieres. Whether it's the latest high-speed trains, e-buses in live operation, artificial intelligence, career programs for young professionals, or the first international Railfluencer Festival – it will be more colorful, digital, and sustainable. The last InnoTrans in 2022 attracted over 130,000 trade visitors from 137 countries. This year’s InnoTrans will be opened by Transport Minister Dr. Volker Wissing and Magda Kopczyńska, Director General for Mobility and Transport in the European Commission.

Trade Fairs Bring Current Trends and Topics to Berlin

The Smart Country Convention will discuss the development of smart cities and regions in Germany, as well as the digitalization of administration, from October 15 to 17. With 15,000 participants, it is a must for everyone who wants to advance the digitalization of the public sector. The official partner country of #SCCON24 is Latvia. From eID to cybersecurity: The Baltic state is a pioneer in digital cities and authorities.

Another round anniversary is being celebrated by belektro Berlin from November 5 to 7. The leading trade fair for electrical, digital, and building technology in the region marks its 40th anniversary in 2024. Since its founding in 1984, belektro has evolved from a trade fair for electrical engineering, electronics, and lighting to a pioneering meeting place for the entire electrical and building technology industry. This year, the Berlin SHK Guild and the SHK State Association of Brandenburg are also participating as co-exhibitors at the E-Handwerke Berlin and Brandenburg. Under the motto "Connect," the focus is on close cooperation between the various trades.

Further Public Highlights in Late Autumn

"Shopping like on vacation" is the motto from November 6 to 10 at Germany's most important international sales fair for design, handicrafts, natural goods, and fair trade products: BAZAAR BERLIN. Exhibitors from all over the world will present their extraordinary goods and typical products over five days – holiday atmosphere included!

Water sports, outdoor adventures, camping fun – just in time for the first Advent weekend, BOOT & FUN BERLIN will bring anticipation for the upcoming water sports and outdoor season to the Berlin Exhibition Halls. From November 28 to December 1, 2024, the focus at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds will be on leisure and experience on, in, and around the water. In addition to trends and innovations, there will be a wide range of brands and models related to water and outdoor sports. From canoes to luxury yachts to houseboats – boats of almost all segments and sizes will be on display under the Berlin Funkturm. But that's not all: Fishing enthusiasts, campers, and outdoor fans will also get their money's worth here. In conjunction with Europe’s largest fair on the trending topic of fishing – ANGELWELT BERLIN – the AUTO CAMPING CARAVAN, and the Transporter Days Berlin, BOOT & FUN BERLIN is Germany's largest boat and leisure fair for water sports, fishing, outdoor activities, and camping.

More Public Fairs at the Exhibition Grounds

From October 24 to 27, Venus Berlin – the world's largest international trade fair for the erotic industry – will open its doors to around 30,000 visitors.Fans of Asian pop culture will meet from October 25 to 27, 2024, at the Manga and Entertainment Expo MEX in the exhibition halls at the Funkturm in Berlin. The organizers expect about 12,000 guests.

Hosting The World International: These Fairs Are Organized by Messe Berlin Abroad

The leading trade fair for the Asian fruit trade, ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA, returns to Hong Kong from September 4 to 9. The largest trade fair for the travel and tourism industry in the Chinese travel market, ITB India, will take place in Mumbai from September 11 to 13. Asia’s leading travel fair, ITB Asia, will open its doors in Singapore from October 23 to 25 for its 17th edition. The MICE Show Asia and Travel Tech Asia will also take place alongside ITB Asia.
