Messe Berlin: Peak Season for Medical Conferences Brings International Guests to Berlin

From October to December 2024, six medical congresses are expected to attract some 40,000 international guests to the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. Berlin's congress and event business is one of the city's most important economic sectors and a driving force behind Berlin as a centre of knowledge.

Berlin is one of the world's leading congress locations. The capital and the venues at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds are particularly popular destinations for medical congresses. From October to December 2024 six top-class medical congresses will take place on the exhibition grounds. In the fall of 2025, two more medical associations, the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and the United European Gastroenterology (UEG Week), will be holding their major congresses in Berlin.

Six medical congress highlights for Berlin

The autumn program of Messe Berlin traditionally includes numerous fixed dates for the international medical and scientific community. The first event is the German Society for Gynecology and Obstetrics (DGGG), which will be celebrating its 65th anniversary in the City Cube from 16 to 19 October 2024. Another regular guest at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds is the congress of the German Society of Neurology (DGN). From November 6 to 9, 2024, 6,000 congress participants will present the full spectrum of neurology and immunology at the CityCube.

The German Nursing Congress has been held in Berlin since 2014 and is the only national event that brings together nursing professionals from politics, business and associations. From November 7 to 11 November 2024, the German Nursing Day will be a guest at hub27. 3,000 guests will discuss the development of the nursing profession and its role in society.

"Mental health in times of crisis" is the motto from November 27 to 30, 2024. Mental health in times of crisis" will be the theme of this year's congress of the German Society of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, Psychosomatics and Nerve Medicine (DGPPN) at the CityCube from November 27-30, 2024. Europe's largest congress in the field of mental health is one of this season's major events, with 9,000 physicians, researchers, therapists and therapists expected to attend.

The European Society of Cardiology invites from 11. December 2024 to the hub27 for EuroEcho-Imaging 2024. 3,000 renowned experts in cardiac imaging and diagnostics will meet to exchange knowledge and network - for the second time this year at Messe Berlin.

New medical congresses coming to Berlin in 2025

Next year, two medical congress highlights will underscore the outstanding importance of Berlin as a congress city: The European Society for Medical Cancer Research has announced that from October 17 to 21, 2025, the congress of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) will be held in Berlin for the first time. October 2025, the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress will be held in Berlin for the first time. Some 25,000 to 30,000 international experts in interdisciplinary cancer research are expected to attend the event at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds.

The 'UEG Week 2025' of the European Association of Gastroenterology returns to Berlin. Following 2006 and 2013, the UEG Week will take place for the third time in Berlin from October 4 to 7, 2025. Approximately 10,000 participants are expected to attend the world's largest gastroenterology congress.
