Refurbishment for the 100th anniversary: the radio tower is preparing for the future.
Extensive refurbishment measures are planned before the Radio Tower's 100th anniversary in 2026 to preserve the historic building and prepare it for the future.
The radio tower will close both the viewing platform and the restaurant to visitors from 5 May until probably November. The reason for the closure is extensive renovation work, which includes both the repair and modernisation of the supporting structure and technical facilities. This will preserve the radio tower as a historical monument, tourist attraction and urban architectural highlight for the future. The radio tower above the restaurant will be scaffolded for the work.
From the exhibition grounds, Teufelsberg and the Olympic Stadium in the west to the TV tower and Memorial Church in the east - many of the capital's landmarks can be discovered from the 126 metre high platform. If you want to enjoy the spectacular view before the tower closes, you can do so until 4 May. The reopening after successful refurbishment is planned for November 2025.
The radio tower restaurant is currently open until 26 April 2025 - only on Fridays and Saturdays from 6 pm. Reservations can be made at funkturm [at] capital-catering.de or by telephone on 030 3038 2900. Access is via the Funkturm tunnel on Messedamm / opposite the ICC.
